No. All design, survey, pricing, installation and aftercare are provided solely by Impact Services.

How does solar power work?
Solar panels capture energy from the sun and turn it into electricity for your home. This clean, renewable power can be used immediately or stored in a battery for later.
Is my home suitable for solar panels?
Most homes in Norfolk are ideal for solar - as long as your roof gets some sunlight. Thatched roofs are usually the only major exception. Our free home survey checks everything from roof size to panel layout, ensuring the system fits your property and needs.
Do I need planning permission for solar panels?
Usually not. Most solar installations fall under “permitted development.” If you live in a listed building, conservation area or similar, we handle the entire planning application for you - including maps, design statements, and full submission paperwork.
What types of solar panels are available, and which are best?
There are several panel types - the most efficient are monocrystalline, which we usually recommend. When we quote, we’ll match the right panels to your roof, energy use, and budget for the best performance and return on investment.
How long do solar panels last?
Our high-quality solar panels last 25-30 years or more. They’re built to withstand harsh weather, and with occasional servicing, most systems run trouble-free for decades. Inverters may need replacing after 10-15 years, but we’ll advise on options.
Are solar panels a good investment?
Yes. Solar panels significantly cut your electricity bills, add value to your home, and protect you from rising energy prices. Many customers tell us it’s one of the best investments they’ve ever made - both financially and environmentally.
What maintenance do solar panels require?
Very little. Rain usually keeps panels clean, but we recommend a quick annual check-up to keep things running efficiently. If you ever need to clean them, warm water and a telescopic pole are usually all that’s needed.
How are solar panels connected to the National Grid?
We take care of everything - including notifying Building Control and your District Network Operator (DNO). Once installed, your system is safely and legally connected to the grid, with all the required documentation in place.

How long do battery storage systems last?
Most lithium-ion home batteries last 10-15 years with minimal upkeep. They include built-in smart systems (BMS) that manage performance and protect lifespan. We’ll help you choose a battery that fits your usage and future plans.
Can I get a battery without solar panels?
Yes. Even without solar panels, batteries let you charge up using cheaper night-time electricity and use it during the day when rates are higher. It’s a smart way to save money - and future-proof your energy setup.
Can I expand my battery system later on?
Absolutely. Our battery solutions are modular - so as your energy use grows (or you add EVs or heat pumps), you can scale your storage to match.
Can I sell excess energy back to the grid with a battery?
Yes - depending on the system and setup, you can export unused energy and earn money through the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG). We’ll advise you on the best options when we prepare your quote.
